A Child’s Voice Foundation
Non-Profit foundation provides financial assistance to children who are physically and or mentally challenges. This foundation has two programs: Kids Life-Line provides one-time financial assistance for necessary products and services that are not covered by the government or insurance; Angel Hair for Kids provides wigs and hair- loss solutions to financially disadvantaged children who have lost their hair due to medical conditions or treatment.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart
The Jumpstart Program is a community-based charity that helps children in financial need participate in organized sports and recreational activities. Activities can include: hockey, soccer, dance, swimming etc., but do not include summer or day camps. A maximum of $300 per child is funded for eligible families.
To be eligible, a child must be between the ages of 4-18 years. A financial assessment including details about the desired choice of activity, may also be required. There are two submission/application sessions per year: spring-summer (January 15 – June 1) and fall/winter (July 1 – November 15).
Children’s Wish Foundation
This foundation is dedicated to fulfilling wishes for children between the ages of 3- 18 suffering from a life-threatening illness.
For the Love of a Child
For the Love of a Child is a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with special needs. It helps bridge the gap between government funding and private insurance.
The goal of our organization is to alleviate some of the financial burden these families endure. Some of the ways we are able to assist children is by providing: Assistive Devices not fully covered by ADP or private insurance; education, conferences, seminars and courses pertaining to a child’s special needs; equipment such as: bath, car, feeding chairs, mobility devices; recreation and leisure for therapeutic use; day camps.
Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity
Jennifer Ashleigh Children's Charity assists children who are seriously ill, have a permanent disability, are 21 years of age or under and whose permanent residence is in Ontario. Family income impacts on assistance decisions.
We will consider requests for assistance in the following areas as they are related to the child's illness: Hospital and treatment costs; household costs (must be directly related to the child’s medical needs); specialized care (nursing, medical care, special daycare, respite); medical treatment (special formula, supplements, medication, hearing aids, glasses, disposable medical supplies, orthotic items, serial casting, incontinence supplies, dental treatment, trillium Drug Plan deductible, special dietary needs, chiropractic treatment, acupuncture); therapies (assessment fees, speech therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, therapeutic horseback riding, adapted tricycles) (can only apply once in a 12 month period).
President’s Choice Children’s Charity
President's Choice® Children's Charity receives applications from families whose children have been diagnosed with a range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and various developmental delays.
To be considered a candidate for assistance, applicants must meet the following criteria: Child or young adult (under 18) with a diagnosed physical or developmental disability; Household income $70,000 or less; Require help with mobility equipment, environmental modification or therapy.
