Enhanced Staffing is available to support the inclusion of children with high needs, ages 0 – 12 years, in licensed child care centres or day camp programs.
The Enhanced Staffing program supports inclusion in the community by providing:
-
Staff, hired directly by the program or by R.F.E.C.Y., to ensure the safety and well being of children with high needs.
-
Individuals who are a complement to the existing ratio in the program to work with all staff to support the inclusion of all children.
-
Consultation to programs regarding ideas to facilitate the success of all children in the program.
- Enhanced Staffing is not child specific and is to support the needs of a program or room where the needs are beyond what they are able to meet within current ratio.
How do I make a referral?
-
No referral necessary, applications to request Enhanced Staffing support are completed and submitted by the early learning or camp program requesting support
-
The assigned Early Learning Inclusion (ELI) Consultant supports the completion of applications and provides onsite support to implement suggestion and strategies with the program staff.
-
Applications are reviewed and decisions are made based on criteria and availability of funding.
