RFECY Child Care Services

The RFECY Child Care Centre provides quality licensed child care for children 2.5 to 6 years of age whose special needs cannot be met by the local licensed child care community. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The child care centre supports children by providing:

• Enhanced staff to child ratio allowing for individualized programming and care that is tailored to the unique needs of the children.
• Staff complement with a variety of educational and experiential backgrounds with particular focus on children with special needs.
• Collaboration with community service providers who provide therapeutic interventions and equipment to enhance the child’s success in the program.
• Purchase of Service agreement with the Regional Municipality of Durham which allows eligible families to apply for subsidy to offset the cost of participating in the program.

How do I make a referral?

• Parents contact the Child Care Supervisor at 905-686-8249 to discuss the needs of their child and availability of space.
• Parent and Child Care Supervisor arrange a time and date for a tour of the child care.
• Parent Handbook to be reviewed by parent and signed prior to the child’s attendance in the program.
• Updated medical information is required upon entry into the program including a photocopy of the child's immunization record.
• A $25.00 non-refundable registration fee is required at time of acceptance.
