Enhanced Staffing

Enhanced Staffing is available to support the inclusion of children with high needs, ages 0 – 12 years, in licensed child care centres or day camp programs.

The Enhanced Staffing program supports inclusion in the community by providing:

• Staff, hired directly by the program or by R.F.E.C.Y., to ensure the safety and well being of children with high needs.
• Individuals who are a complement to the existing ratio in the program to work with all staff to support the inclusion of all children.
• Consultation to programs regarding ideas to facilitate the success of all children in the program.

How do I make a referral?

• The family must complete an intake with RFECY and may make a referral by calling 905-427-8862 ext. 541.
• Once intake is complete and the child is in attendance at centre, the Child Care Centre can submit a completed Enhanced Staffing Application.
• Enhanced Staffing Application for Camp Programs must be completed by the parent(s).
• Applications are reviewed, observations are completed and decisions are made based on criteria and availability of funding.
