Mission
The Durham Region Child Care Forum enhances our community’s capacity to deliver quality services for children.
Values
The Durham Region Child Care Forum believes:
- That community based collaborative planning is critical to the development of a comprehensive system of services for children and families.
- That all families have a right to support and assistance to meet their children’s needs.
- That cooperative efforts and clear, non-biased communication are necessary to ensure comprehensive care for children.
- That on-going professional development of service providers is essential in the provision of quality child care.
Goals
- Develop and coordinate a comprehensive strategy to work on behalf of the children and families of Durham Region and on behalf of the staff who support these children and families. Support on-going education and policy awareness through a comprehensive communications plan.
- Plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive Professional Development plan.
- Plan, implement and evaluate regular Conferences for early childhood educators and those who support them.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and linkages.
- Develop and implement a new membership model that will strengthen the capacity of the Durham Region Child Care Forum to operate effectively.
- Effectively administer the work of the Durham Region Child Care Forum enabling it to meet the strategic objectives
